About me
I am a Chemical Engineer by background, but translation has chosen me.
I have a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). I also have a master's degree and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the same university and a specialization in English Translation from Estácio de Sá. I developed a sandwich doctoral project at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon in 2014 (CAPES-PDSE). I also worked as a substitute professor in the Chemical Engineering course at the Federal University of Goiás in 2018.
My first contact with translation was in 2012, during my master’s degree, when I submitted a scientific paper to a journal, and the reviewer recommended English proofreading. Two years later, at the beginning of my Ph.D., a friend asked me if I could help her to translate an abstract and an entire paper. At that time, I did not know anything about translation techniques, but I tried them, and I loved it. Time went by. I finished my Ph.D. and worked as a professor. Then, I decided to study more about English translation by doing a postgraduate at Estácio de Sá in 2019 and becoming a translator and proofreader of scientific papers in 2020.
After some experience in teaching and researching, I have decided to be a translator, the best way to combine my passions: engineering, research, and languages.
Today, I am a technical translator and proofreader specializing in scientific papers and academic-technical texts in the Engineering, Renewable Energy, Natural sciences, Biology sciences, and Sustainability fields.
